Retail trade, September 2023
Retail sales increased 0.6% to $66.5 billion in September. Sales were up in four of nine subsectors and were led by increases at motor vehicle and parts dealers (+1.5%).
National Travel Survey, second quarter 2023
During the second quarter, Canadian residents took 78.3 million trips, 7.7 million more than in the same quarter of 2022. Most of these trips (89.6%) were related to domestic travel.
Visitor Travel Survey, second quarter 2023
Spending in Canada by international travellers totalled nearly $7.0 billion in the second quarter, almost twice the amount spent during the same quarter of 2022 ($3.6 billion). Total visitor spending was 11.1% higher in the second quarter of 2023 than the $6.3 billion spent from April to June 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aquaculture, 2022
Sales of aquaculture products and services remained relatively steady compared with 2021, increasing 0.4% to $1.4 billion in 2022. The aquaculture industry experienced a growth in sales despite a decrease in finfish production because the average price of finfish rose sharply.

Food services and drinking places data for Canada and the provinces are now available for September.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, October 2023
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for October. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales declined 2.7% in October. The largest decreases were in the petroleum and coal product, machinery, and transportation equipment subsectors.
