Labour Force Survey, October 2025
Employment increased by 67,000 (+0.3%) in October, the second consecutive monthly increase, and the employment rate rose 0.2 percentage points to 60.8%. The unemployment rate declined 0.2 percentage points to 6.9%.
Retail Commodity Survey, August 2025
Retail sales reached $72.5 billion in August, an increase of 3.4% compared with the same month one year earlier. Higher sales were reported in 16 of the 18 commodity classes.
Canada’s population estimates: Census families and households, 2025
Estimates of the number of census families and households for Canada, the provinces and the territories on July 1, 2025, are now available. The estimates of the number of census families are broken down by family structure (couple or one-parent family). The estimates of the number of households are broken down by size. Updated estimates on July 1 for the years 2022 to 2024 are also available.
End use of refined petroleum products, 2024
Total sales of refined petroleum products to end-users stood at 89.6 million cubic metres in 2024, an increase of 0.7% from 2023.
Secondary distributors of refined petroleum products, 2024
Sales of refined petroleum products by secondary distributors reached 23.4 billion litres in Canada in 2024, a 1.9% decline from 2023. Products sold consisted of motor gasoline (50.5%), diesel fuel oil (43.5%), light fuel oil (3.4%) and heavy fuel oil (2.6%).
Dimensions of Poverty Hub update, 2023-base Market Basket Measure
Today, Statistics Canada is updating the Dimensions of Poverty Hub. The hub, sponsored by Employment and Social Development Canada, enables Canadians to track progress on poverty reduction. The updates include poverty statistics based on the new 2023-base Market Basket Measure (MBM).
Biannual Survey of Suppliers of Business Financing, first half of 2025
Data on suppliers of business financing for the first half of 2025 are now available. With this release, data for the second half of 2024 have been revised.
