New direct measures suggest more adults are keeping their teeth, but gum health is declining, 2022 to 2024
Results from direct measures of Canadians’ oral health in the Canadian Health Measures Survey (held from 2022 to 2024) are now available, providing updated information for the first time in more than 15 years. Although some indicators have improved, others highlight areas that warrant attention. The addition of new measures provides a more complete picture of Canadians’ oral health.

New data on medical assistance in dying (MAID) are now available through Statistics Canada’s Research Data Centres (RDCs). Health Canada, the federal department responsible for the MAID monitoring system, has published detailed findings in their Fifth Annual Report on Medical Assistance in Dying in Canada, 2023.

Energy statistics, September 2025
Primary energy production increased 5.6% in September to 2.0 million terajoules, with four of six sectors showing growth. Meanwhile, secondary energy production rose by 5.7%, mainly due to the strength of the refined petroleum products sector (+5.5%).

Capital expenditures in the oil and gas extraction industries totalled $10.9 billion in the third quarter of 2025, down 2.6% from the second quarter.
Screened passenger traffic at Canadian airports, October 2025
In October, 5.0 million passengers were recorded passing through pre-board security screening at checkpoints operated at Canada’s eight largest airports. This is a 4.5% increase over October 2024 and 9.9% higher than the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level from October 2019.
