Job vacancies, third quarter 2024
Job vacancies fell by 31,900 (-5.5%) to 546,100 in the third quarter, marking the ninth consecutive quarterly decline.
Results of the 2022 Survey on the Official Language Minority Population
Statistics Canada is releasing the results from the 2022 Survey on the Official Language Minority Population. This survey sheds light on different aspects of the situation of English-speaking populations in Quebec and French-speaking populations in Canada’s other provinces and territory capitals.
Railway carloadings, October 2024
In October, the volume of cargo carried by Canadian railways reached 33.1 million tonnes, up slightly (+0.4%) from October 2023. It was the highest level for the month of October in five years.
Traffic Flow Dashboard
Statistics Canada has launched the Traffic Flow Dashboard as a source of experimental statistics to provide information on the traffic flow on selected road segments in the cities of Calgary and Toronto.
Public colleges report a record revenue increase in 2022/2023
Total revenue of public colleges (including CEGEPs and polytechnics) increased by 10.5%, rising from $14.6 billion in 2021/2022 to $16.1 billion in 2022/2023. Total expenditures increased by 7.7% to $15.5 billion in 2022/2023, resulting in a total surplus of $591 million for the year. Dollar figures in this release are expressed in 2023 constant dollars to remove the effect of inflation and to enable comparisons over time.
