In 2022, out of 8 million Canadians aged 15 years and older with one or more disabilities, 3.8 million (48%) faced communication barriers and 1.4 million (17%) faced Internet use barriers during the 12 months prior to the Canadian Survey on Disability.

Monthly estimates of business openings and closures, December 2024

In December, the business opening rate dropped 0.3 percentage points to 4.7% following an increase of a similar extent in the previous month. The business closure rate contracted 0.2 percentage points to 4.7% in December after holding relatively steady at 4.9% over the previous two months. In December, the opening rate was equal to its 2015-to-2019 historical average whereas the closure rate settled 0.1 percentage points above its historical average.

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, February 2025

Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for February. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales declined 0.2% in February. The largest decreases were in the food and the petroleum and coal product subsectors.
