Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, August 2025
In August, the Industrial Product Price Index increased 0.5% month over month and gained 4.0% year over year. At the same time, the Raw Materials Price Index declined 0.6% month over month and rose 3.2% year over year.
Investment in building construction, July 2025
Overall, the total value of investment in building construction increased 0.4% (+$87.4 million) to $22.7 billion in July.
Labour market outcomes of the Black populations in Canada, 2020 to 2025
Black populations constitute the second-largest racialized group (5.4%) in the Canadian labour force, reaching 1.2 million people in August 2025, with most (69.1%) being of core working age. The Black populations’ employment rate has been lower and their unemployment rate has been higher compared with those of the total racialized and total Canadian populations. For example, in August, the employment rate for the Black populations in Canada aged 25 to 54 years was 77.2%, compared with 82.8% for the overall population in this age group.
Households and the Environment Survey, 2023
Data related to air conditioners, the use of parks and greenspaces, environmental engagement, homegrown fruit, herbs, vegetables and flowers, participation in outdoor activities, composting practices, vehicles, the sharing economy and primary heating systems from the 2023 Households and the Environment Survey are now available.
Motor vehicle fuel sales, 2024
The demand for motor vehicle fuels levelled off in 2024, with gross sales of gasoline in Canada edging up 0.5% year over year to 43.8 billion litres. Despite this gain, gross sales of gasoline remained below the pre-COVID-19 pandemic 2019 level.
