National balance sheet and financial flow accounts, third quarter 2025
Canadian households accumulated financial wealth in the third quarter of 2025, as their net worth—the value of all assets minus all liabilities—increased by almost a half-trillion dollars (+$460.5 billion; +2.6%) to reach $18,394.1 billion.
Canadian international trade in services, September 2025
Canada’s monthly international trade in services surplus was essentially unchanged from the previous month at $0.2 billion in September. Overall, imports of services were up 0.8% to $19.8 billion, and exports of services increased 0.7% to $20.0 billion.
Canadian international merchandise trade, September 2025
In September, Canada’s merchandise exports increased 6.3%, while imports were down 4.1%. Because of these strong opposing movements, Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world went from a deficit of $6.4 billion in August to a slight surplus of $153 million in September, essentially a balanced position.

Canadian System of Environmental–Economic Accounts: Energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, 2023
In 2023, Canada’s overall energy use decreased 0.5% compared with one year earlier, and greenhouse gas emissions fell 0.9%. Meanwhile, Canada’s economy continued to grow in 2023, with real gross domestic product by industry increasing 2.0% from 2022.

Data from the Physical flow account for greenhouse gas emissions are now available upon request by gas type for reference years 2009 to 2023. Gas types included are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), in CO2 equivalents.
New registrations, certifications and pathway indicators of registered apprentices in Canada, 2024
New registrations in apprenticeship programs reached 101,541 in 2024, marking a 5.9% increase from 2023 and setting a record high since the beginning of the series in 2008. This milestone also marks the fourth consecutive year of growth since the near-record lows of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The strong recovery in apprenticeship registrations highlights the sustained demand for skilled trades across the country.
Maple products, 2025
Canadian maple producers harvested 18.8 million gallons of maple syrup in 2025, down 5.1% from the record high in 2024. Despite this decline, 2025 was still the second-highest production year on record, driven by favourable weather conditions across all maple-producing provinces.

Provisional death counts, January 2023 to September 2025
Today’s release includes new and updated adjusted counts of death from the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database, covering the period from January 7, 2023, to October 4, 2025. The Provisional Deaths in Canada Dashboard, which provides the most recent insights on mortality trends, as well as interactive data visualization tools, has been updated.
