Canadian international merchandise trade, October 2025
In October, Canada’s merchandise imports increased 3.4%, while exports were up 2.1%. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade balance with the world went from a small surplus of $243 million in September to a deficit of $583 million in October.
Canadian international trade in services, October 2025
Canada’s monthly international trade in services surplus widened from $0.4 billion in September to $0.5 billion in October. Overall, imports of services declined 1.2% to $19.6 billion, and exports were down 0.4% to $20.1 billion.
Retail Commodity Survey, October 2025
Retail sales reached $72.5 billion in October, an increase of 2.1% compared with the same month one year earlier. Higher sales were recorded in 13 of the 18 commodity classes.
