Retail trade, May 2025
Retail sales decreased 1.1% to $69.2 billion in May. Sales were down in three of nine subsectors and were led by decreases at motor vehicle and parts dealers.
Employment Insurance, May 2025
The number of Canadians receiving regular Employment Insurance benefits was virtually unchanged (-0.3%; -1,600) at 517,000 in May.
Aircraft movement and civil aviation statistics, May 2025
Major Canadian airlines flew 7.1 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in May, down 1.8% from May 2024.
Building construction price indexes, second quarter 2025
Residential building construction costs increased 1.0% in the second quarter, following a 0.9% increase in the previous quarter. Non-residential building construction costs rose 1.6% in the second quarter, following a 1.0% increase in the previous quarter.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, June 2025
Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for June. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales increased 0.4% in June. The largest increases were in the petroleum and coal and food product subsectors.
