The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically altered the way of life for Canadian families, parents and children. A recent crowdsourcing initiative provides a snapshot of the experiences of parents and families during this unprecedented time.
Study: Gender differences in mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic
Previous research has demonstrated that the COVID-19 pandemic is negatively affecting the mental health of Canadians. Today, a new study highlights gender differences in the pandemic’s impacts on the mental health of participants in a recent crowdsourcing survey, conducted by Statistics Canada from April 24 to May 11, 2020. Around 46,000 Canadian residents participated in this survey.
Survey of Non-Bank Mortgage Lenders, fourth quarter 2019
The total number of residential mortgage loans extended by non-bank mortgage lenders decreased 0.7% to 162,631, down from 163,791 in the third quarter. The value of these loans held steady at $40.3 billion.

An updated set of preliminary data on the number of confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported by provincial and territorial public health authorities to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is now available. Along with this dataset are three aggregated tables that summarize the information available in the dataset. The updated information covers the period from January 15 to July 5, 2020.
Waste management industry: Waste disposal, 2018
Almost 26 million tonnes of non-hazardous waste went to private and public waste disposal facilities in Canada in 2018, an increase of about 3% since 2016.
