Households were wealthier in the fourth quarter of 2024 as their net worth—the value of all assets minus all liabilities—increased $236.3 billion (+1.4%) to $17,495.0 billion.
Data, intangible capital and economic growth in Canada

Nevertheless, they are crucial to modern business performance and create assets that are used repeatedly in production processes for many years.
Building permits, January 2025
In January, the total value of building permits issued in Canada decreased by $425.8 million (-3.2%) from the previous month to $12.8 billion.
New motor vehicle registrations, fourth quarter 2024
In 2024, there were 1,852,738 new motor vehicle registrations in Canada, an 8.0% increase from 2023. Ontario (699,289) led in total registrations in 2024, followed by Quebec (477,761) and British Columbia (219,177).
