Gross domestic product by industry, January 2024
Real gross domestic product rose 0.6% in January as both services-producing and goods-producing industries posted gains.
Non-profit institutions and volunteering: Economic contribution, first quarter to fourth quarter 2023
Real gross domestic product (GDP) of non-profit institutions edged up 0.1% in the fourth quarter, after rising 0.8% in the third quarter. Increases in real GDP of non-profits serving households and businesses was largely offset by a decline in real GDP of non-profits serving governments. In comparison, economy-wide real GDP edged up 0.2% in the fourth quarter.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, and job vacancies, January 2024
The number of employees receiving pay and benefits from their employer—measured as “payroll employment” in the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—increased by 39,800 (+0.2%) in January.
Farm operating revenues and expenses, 2022
In 2022, agricultural operations reported $707,635 in operating revenues on average, up 10.1% from 2021, while average operating expenses increased by 13.6% to $576,003. As a result, average net operating income decreased by 2.9% to $131,632 in 2022.

Quality of life indicators for the “Selected indicators of quality of life in Canada” dashboard
The data visualization product Selected indicators of quality of life in Canada has been updated with four additional quality of life indicators. These indicators, which are part of the Quality of Life Framework for Canada, include: difficulty meeting financial needs, confidence in institutions, satisfaction with time use, and satisfaction with local environment.
