Vast majority of students attended public schools prior to the pandemic
Over 5.6 million students in Canada were enrolled in elementary and secondary school programs in 2018/2019, prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. These students were attending public schools, private/independent schools, or were home-schooled.
Canada’s international trade in services deficit continued to contract in 2019
Canada’s deficit on international transactions in services contracted by $0.9 billion to reach $21.5 billion in 2019. This was the fourth consecutive annual reduction of the services deficit. While the reductions in the previous years were mainly the result of lower travel deficits, the larger commercial services surplus was the main contributor in 2019.
Detailed preliminary data on confirmed cases of COVID-19, January 15 to October 11, 2020
An updated set of preliminary data on the number of confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported by provincial and territorial public health authorities to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is now available. Along with this dataset are two aggregated tables that summarize the information available in the dataset. The updated information covers the period from January 15 to October 11, 2020.

New motor vehicle sales data for Canada and the provinces are now available for August.
Lending Services Price Index, second quarter 2020
Data from 2017 onwards are now available upon request for the Lending Services Price Index (LSPI). The LSPI measures the monthly price change for existing lending services in Canada and its primary purpose is to provide supplemental information to help inform the deflation of the banking industry’s output.
