Trends in police-reported family violence and intimate partner violence in Canada, 2023
Rates for police-reported family violence (+3%) and intimate partner violence (+1%) increased in 2023. There were 139,020 victims of family violence and 123,319 victims (aged 12 years and older) of intimate partner violence that came to the attention of police—a rate of 350 victims of family violence and 354 victims of intimate partner violence per 100,000 population.

For the first time, the Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics is releasing preliminary quarterly data on police-reported hate crime and cybercrime for the first and second quarters of the 2024 calendar year.
Railway carloadings, August 2024
In August, Canadian railways transported 27.8 million tonnes of freight, down 10.9% from August 2023, the lowest tonnage for the month in more than 10 years.
Accounting services, 2023
Following a 9.8% increase in 2022, the operating revenue of the accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping and payroll services industry rose 9.7% to $28.2 billion in 2023. This continues a trend of growth in this industry. Operating revenue has grown every year since 2012, at an average rate of 7.0% per year.
