Quarterly financial statistics for enterprises, fourth quarter 2019
Canadian corporate operating profits grew $3.9 billion (+3.6%) to $112.3 billion in the fourth quarter, marking the third consecutive quarterly increase in operating profit. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2018, operating profit increased 4.8%.
A socioeconomic portrait of Canada’s Black population
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing two studies that examine the socioeconomic outcomes of the Black population in Canada. Results show that, overall, the Black population in Canada has lower labour market outcomes, but has higher educational aspirations and reports higher levels of resilience than the rest of the Canadian population.

Canadian cattle, hog and sheep inventories were all down on January 1, 2020, compared with January 1, 2019.
