Firearms and violent crime in Canada, 2022
The rate of firearm-related violent crime reached its peak in 2022, the highest rate since comparable data were first compiled in 2009.
Monthly civil aviation statistics, November 2023
Canadian Level I air carriers flew 6.0 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in November. While this was up 8.6% from the same month in 2022, the number of passengers in November 2023 was 2.2% below the November 2019 level, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major and select small airports, November 2023
In November, aircraft movements at Canada’s major and select small airports totalled 447,863. This was an increase of 9.1% from November 2022 and the largest year-over-year gain since March 2023.
Repair and maintenance services subsector, 2022
Businesses in the repair and maintenance services subsector generated $36.9 billion in operating revenues in 2022, an increase of 7.9% from 2021. Operating expenses rose 8.0% to $33.5 billion in 2022. The profit margin declined slightly, from 9.2% in 2021 to 9.1% in 2022.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, December 2023
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.2 billion cigarettes in December 2023, down 8.7% from November 2023. Cigarette production was 52.6% higher compared with December 2022.
