Consumer Price Index, October 2023
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.1% on a year-over-year basis in October, following a 3.8% increase in September. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI fell 0.1% in October.
New Housing Price Index, October 2023
The national index was unchanged month over month in October. Prices were down or unchanged in 22 of the 27 census metropolitan areas (CMAs) surveyed and up in the remaining 5.
Trends in police-reported family violence and intimate partner violence in Canada, 2022
After several years of increase, rates of police-reported family violence and intimate partner violence were unchanged in 2022. Rates decreased to a small degree for women and girls, while they increased slightly for men and boys.
Railway carloadings, September 2023
In September, Canadian railways transported 30.7 million tonnes of freight, down slightly (-1.9%) from September 2022.
