Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, September 2024
The Industrial Product Price Index fell 0.6% month over month in September and decreased 0.9% year over year. The Raw Materials Price Index declined 3.1% month over month in September and fell 8.8% year over year.
Families with young children: A sociodemographic profile
The parents of young children are substantially older today than a generation ago, and highly diverse, with one-third having immigrated to Canada. Over one in five families with young children (21.8%) were headed by parents in a common-law union in 2021, more than five times the share four decades earlier (4.0% in 1981).
Travel between Canada and other countries, August 2024
In August, US residents took 3.2 million trips to Canada, and residents of overseas countries took 811,200 trips. The number of non-resident arrivals (US-resident and overseas-resident arrivals combined) in Canada represented 86.9% of the number observed in August 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Electric power thermal generating station fuel consumption, 2023 (final)
In 2023, electric thermal plants in Canada generated 217.4 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity, rising 4.8%, or 9.9 million MWh, from 2022.
Electricity supply and disposition, 2023 (final)
The total amount of electricity generated in Canada decreased by 3.9% to 618.3 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in 2023, a fall of 24.9 million MWh from the previous year.

New data from the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program are now available, including updated tables about demographic characteristics of the school-age population; education finance; high school graduation rates; teachers, the learning environment and the organization of schools; research and development; and transitions to postsecondary education and the labour market.
