Real gross domestic product was essentially unchanged in August as services-producing industries edged up 0.1% while goods-producing industries contracted 0.2%.

In 2022, electric thermal plants in Canada generated 202.5 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity, down 3.8%, or 7.9 million MWh, from 2021.

Operating revenues in the commercial and industrial machinery and equipment rental and leasing industry rose 20.6% from 2021 to $16.1 billion in 2022, representing a new high for the industry.
