Study: Gaps in prescription insurance coverage
Using data from the Canadian Community Health Survey 2015, 2016 and 2019, this study examines differences in insurance coverage by plan types, highlighting possible disparities across sex, racialized groups, immigrant status, household income and employment status.
Environmental and Clean Technology Products Economic Account, 2022
The real gross domestic product (GDP) generated by the environmental and clean technology products sector increased for the second consecutive year, rising 1.2% in 2022 following a 1.9% gain in 2021. Nevertheless, the annual growth in the environment and clean technology sector in 2022 remained below pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels and was much slower than the overall economy growth (+3.9%).
Energy statistics, October 2023
Primary energy production rose 0.5% year over year in October, following declines in August (-1.7%) and September (-1.5%). Natural gas (+1.6%) was the main contributor to the October increase, while primary electricity (-5.3%) largely offset the overall increase. Meanwhile, secondary energy production posted a 5.0% decrease mostly due to refined petroleum products (-5.6%).
Screened passenger traffic at Canadian airports, November 2023
In November, 4.1 million passengers passed through pre-board security screening at checkpoints operated at Canada’s eight largest airports, an increase of 10.9% from November 2022. With November 2023 traffic slightly above (+0.7%) the same month in 2019, this marked the fifth consecutive month in which total passengers exceeded pre-COVID-19 pandemic volumes.
Farm product prices, November 2023
Monthly provincial prices received by farmers in November 2023 for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available.
Poultry and egg statistics, December 2023
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for December 2023. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for November 2023, and data on egg production are available for October 2023.
