Canada’s international investment position, fourth quarter 2024
Canada’s net foreign asset position increased by $166.6 billion to $1,994.6 billion at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, a fifth consecutive quarterly increase.

Canadian farmers expect to plant more wheat, corn for grain, oats and dry peas in 2025, while area seeded to canola, soybeans, barley and lentils is anticipated to decrease, compared with the previous year.
Earnings and mobility indicators for newly certified journeypersons in Canada, 2022
The median employment income of certified journeypersons can reflect labour market demands and provide information on the economic well-being of these workers. In 2022, the median employment income of newly certified journeypersons one year after certification reached $56,580, up 1.0% (+$550) from the previous year. In comparison, their median employment income had grown by 12.2% in 2021, following a decline of 5.7% in 2020, during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Physical flow account for plastic material, 2021
The Physical Flow Account for Plastic Material is an environmental-economic account that estimates the flow of plastic through the Canadian economy. The account provides annual estimates by product category, resin type, and province and territory. The time-series starts in 2012 and now includes 2021.
Employer pension plans (trusteed pension funds), third quarter 2024
Data on trusteed pension funds (value of assets by sector; value of assets by foreign and domestic holdings; and revenues, expenditures and net income) are now available for the third quarter of 2024.

2022 Time Use Survey: public use microdata file and new income data
Today, Statistics Canada has released the public use microdata file for the 2022 Time Use Survey (TUS). This survey provides information on how Canadians spend their time and how their time contributes to their well-being. Data from the 2022 TUS has also been updated to include information on personal and family income derived from linkages to fiscal administrative data from the T1 Family File.
