Number and salaries of full-time teaching staff at Canadian universities, 2022/2023
In 2022/2023, there were 48,258 full-time teaching staff at Canadian universities, an increase of 33.9% since 2002/2003. Over one-third (36.7% or 17,718) of them were full professors, the highest rank a professor can achieve.
Stimulants in the wastewater of Canadian cities: provisional results, January 2022 to May 2023
The Canadian Wastewater Survey has regularly been collecting wastewater samples from several cities across the country since 2019 to test for various drugs, including stimulants. The release today includes new data for 2022 as well as provisional data for the months of January, March, and May 2023 as part of Statistics Canada’s commitment to more timely and relevant data.

Building construction price indexes, third quarter 2023
Residential building construction costs increased 1.0% in the third quarter, following a 2.0% increase in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, non-residential building construction costs rose 0.9% in the third quarter, following a 1.6% increase in the previous quarter.
