‘We won’t defeat Trump’s colonialism,’ says Cindy Woodhouse-Nepinak.
A few blocks from where Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was giving his reaction to tariffs imposed on Canada by U.S. President Donald Trump, Indigenous leaders were meeting to discuss the future of the old American embassy on Wellington St., across from Parliament Hill.
The announcement they gathered for turned to questions about the tariffs.
“Look we won’t defeat Trump’s colonialism with more colonialism in Canada,” said Assembly of First Nations National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak.
