Trout Creek wind project blows through ministry approval – NorthBayNipissing.com

POWASSAN – A Trout Creek wind project is breezing through approval steps.

The proposal to create a three-turbine wind energy facility in Laurier Township received approval from the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change in July.

Leader Resources, the project developer, is now moving to the next phase: establishing a community liaison committee to “provide ongoing communications regarding the construction, operation, maintenance and the eventual decommissioning of the Project,” states a notice on the company’s website.

Under the Trout Creek Renewable Energy Approval, the committee is to provide opportunity to discuss issues and concerns, and provide the community with regular updates.
