We need to work co-operatively with Indigenous people to fight climate change, writes Mukerjee – The Hill Times

After reading the June 13 environment policy briefing in The Hill Times, I could not but be impressed by the concern shown for climate change by the government along with the proposed and varied corrective options. What absolutely is missing is the deep loss to our “First People,” including Inuit who, for thousands of years, have lived in the North. There are clear and severe of damages to the environment and the disruption to our Indigenous people’s lives. It would be most appropriate to engage our Indigenous people in the struggle to address climate change.
