Press Release

August 30, 2022

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is pleased to announce the grant recipients of the Resilient Communities Fund. Over $28 million has been invested into 279 non-profit organizations as they adapt their programs and services and meet changing community need.

In 2020–21, OTF launched the Resilient Communities Fund to help the non-profit sector rebuild capacity and recover from the impacts of COVID-19. The fund shifted from stabilization and capacity building to helping organizations meet their changing needs. Resilient Communities Fund grants continue to help organizations:

  • Develop new approaches to program and service delivery
  • Purchase new equipment and/or complete renovations and other adaptations
  • Access financial resources and find new sources of revenue
  • Collaborate with other organizations in new ways to meet community needs

Through the fourth round of the Resilient Communities Fund, over $28 million has been awarded to support 279 non-profit organizations. Explore the grants awarded list.

A few projects receiving funding this year include:

  • Walpole Island Land Trust received a $95,300 grant to help deliver programs for youth, Elders and Knowledge Keepers by hiring and training personnel, purchasing personal protective equipment, and creating digital content | Essex, Kent, Lambton

“As we continue to navigate the impacts of COVID-19, OTF remains committed to helping the non-profit sector as many organizations and communities remain significantly affected. While program and service delivery has begun to return to normal for some, others still struggle with disruptions to their operations. Through the Resilient Communities Fund, 279 non-profit organizations will receive the support they need to address barriers and meet evolving community need,” said Katharine Bambrick, CEO of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
