Calgary Chamber of Commerce report outlines ways of building relationships
CALGARY — Aboriginal communities present unique economic and business opportunities through their significant potential for economic growth, ready workforce and market demand for the Alberta and Canadian economies, says a new report released Monday by the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
The report said that in Canada there are more than $315 billion in major resource development projects identified on or near Aboriginal communities.
“Partnering with Aboriginal communities in Alberta is not only to be expected but it is a smart business decision,” said the report which was authored by the Chamber’s policy analyst Shafak Sajid.
The report, Building and Sustaining Successful Partnerships, is a follow up to the Aboriginal-Business Connection Series 2 workshops this fall put on by the Chamber.
