ATCO Gas Supports Triathlon Through Helping Hands

EDMONTON, ALBERTA–(April 15, 2014) – ATCO Gas announced today its support for the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Grand Final to be held this year in Edmonton. In addition to financial and in-kind support, ATCO Gas employees will be engaged as volunteers through the company’s Days of Caring program.

“ATCO Gas has a long history of supporting initiatives that foster vibrant, healthy communities,” said Bill Stephens, President, ATCO Gas. “We are enhancing our support of the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final by extending the helping hands needed to create a world class event. Through our Days of Caring program, ATCO Gas employees will donate more than 550 volunteer hours to help set the stage in Hawrelak Park before the racers take their mark.”

ATCO Gas will also support employees interested in competing in the Sprint or Try-A-Tri categories at the event.

As the final race on the ITU’s 2014 World Triathlon Series calendar, the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final will attract more than 4,000 athletes, 6,000 accompanying visitors and a worldwide television audience of approximately 45 million in 160 countries. The event runs from Aug. 26 – Sept. 1.
