Alberta is showcasing its leadership in global energy security and innovation to the world at the 2026 Global Energy Show.
From June 9 to 11, Premier Danielle Smith, Minister of Energy and Minerals Brian Jean, Minister of Indigenous Relations Rajan Sawhney, Minister of Affordability and Utilities RJ Sigurdson, and Minister of Environment Grant Hunter, along with government officials, will welcome more than a thousand national delegates from over 100 countries to Calgary. They will be championing Alberta’s energy and minerals opportunities alongside innovative industry players who are delivering made-in-Alberta products, technologies and solutions to global markets.
Against a backdrop of ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and supply disruptions, Alberta’s role in strengthening energy security for Canada and its allies has never been more important. At the Global Energy Show, Alberta will reinforce its position as a reliable, secure supplier and long-term partner while advancing new opportunities for investment, exports and market access.
“Where energy comes from matters more than ever. The world is looking for a secure and affordable energy supply from a responsible partner they can rely on, and Alberta is the answer. Global energy leaders will be gathering right here in Alberta, providing us with a platform to demonstrate first-hand how we can meet the world’s growing energy needs for decades to come.”
Danielle Smith, Premier
Alberta has some of the largest oil, gas and lithium reserves in the world and a growing number of critical mineral opportunities. This conference brings together the top energy officials from governments and industry and will put Alberta front and centre.
“As supply disruptions continue, the call for reliable and responsible energy suppliers has never been louder. Alberta’s vast resources, paired with our world-class standards and expertise, are positioned to meet this energy demand. The Global Energy Show allows us to connect with international energy leaders and demonstrate that Alberta is the answer to energy security.”
Brian Jean, Minister of Energy and Minerals
While at the conference, Premier Smith, Minister Jean and other Alberta government officials will promote Alberta’s energy sector, abundant energy resources and technology solutions to government officials and industry from around the world. Discussions will focus on strengthening Alberta’s position as a reliable energy partner, identifying new opportunities to advance market access and attracting investment for the province’s world-class and responsibly developed resources.
“The Global Energy Show reflects the innovation and vision of Canada’s oil and natural gas industry. With growing global demand for reliable, responsibly produced energy, the contribution of our sector is clear. GES provides an opportunity to highlight how this industry delivers real value – supporting partners globally while driving economic growth at home.”
Lisa Baiton, CAPP president and CEO
