Carillion Canada Newest CCAB Patron Sponsor
TORONTO, ON – December 9, 2014 – Carillion Canada Inc. (“Carillion”) is pleased to become a Patron Member of the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business (CCAB) – a member organization dedicated to promoting the full participation of Aboriginal communities in the Canadian economy.
“Our ambition is to be the trusted partner for Aboriginal businesses and communities across Canada,” says Carillion President and CEO Simon Buttery. “This Patron membership confirms our commitment to continued collaboration with the CCAB, and to developing long-term working relationships that deliver positive economic, social and environmental outcomes.”
Carillion Canada joined CCAB in 2012, and has since established an Aboriginal Relations Advisory Board and Steering Committee, consisting of business leaders, cross-functional team members, and external advisors. Carillion Canada is also a proud partner of Bouchier, one of Canada’s leading Aboriginal businesses. Bouchier delivers integrated site support services across Alberta’s oil sands, and attracted a significant minority investment from Carillion Canada in 2012.
“The focus of our Aboriginal Relations Steering Committee is to further develop opportunities that enable us to make meaningful contributions with Aboriginal communities where we live and work, while we strive to achieve Gold status accreditation in CCAB’s Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program,” says Simon.
“The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business is honoured to welcome Carillion to our distinguished group of Patron Members. Carillion’s global expertise and local delivery offers a valuable business acumen that will be highly beneficial to Aboriginal communities across Canada,” says CCAB President and CEO JP Gladu. “We’re thrilled to work with Carillion and explore the possibilities that lie ahead in strengthening the relationship between Aboriginal businesses and Corporate Canada.”
