He won’t make it back to Ottawa in time to join his fellow Liberals at their weekly closed-door caucus confab, but Prime Minister Mark Carney will nevertheless be back in his front-and-centre seat in the House of Commons this afternoon, according to his itinerary, where he can expect to face a fresh barrage of pointed questions — and critiques — on his whirlwind visit to Washington, D.C. — and, more specifically, what, exactly, he was able to able to accomplish during his tête-à-tête with U.S. President Donald Trump yesterday afternoon.
According to his office, Carney will board his flight back to Ottawa this morning (10:30 a.m.) and is expected to touch down in the National Capital Region at noon, with both his departure and arrival currently designated as “closed to media.”
