Carney set to be back in the House to take questions following latest interest rate call – iPolitics

As the opening week of the fall sitting hits the halfway mark, Prime Minister Mark Carney will be back in his front-and-centre seat when the curtain rises on the House of Commons this afternoon, according to his office, setting the stage for a second cross-aisle face-off with his opposition rivals after skipping yesterday’s go-round to meet with visiting Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe. (2 p.m)

The third question period of the season may also give MPs their first chance to cross-examine the two front benchers tasked with taking over the files previously handled by their now former cabinet colleague, Chrystia Freeland —  who, as reported by iPolitics, served notice yesterday that she would be leaving the ministry to become Canada’s special envoy for the reconstruction of Ukraine — with Canada – US Relations Minister Dominic LeBlanc adding internal trade to his workload, and Government House Leader Steve MacKinnon now responsible for transport.
