After making an unexpected appearance at the Haliburton Forest Trail Race over the weekend — where, as Canadian Press reports, he competed in the 26-kilometre run, and finished 58th out of 120 runners with a final time of “just over three hours and 45 minutes,” and, according to one volunteer, “hung around the finish line for .. an hour, just chatting with people and having photos taken” — Prime Minister Mark Carney is set for a whirlwind one-day visit to St. John’s, Nfld., before joining his Liberal caucus colleagues in Edmonton tomorrow.
