Carney to face MPs amid fresh reports of possible pipeline pact with Alberta – iPolitics

With his latest extended stint on the high-level summit circuit behind him, Prime Minister Mark Carney will be back in his front-and-centre seat in the House of Commons this afternoon amid a fresh flurry of reports that the much-rumoured deal between his government and Alberta is on track to be unveiled later this week.

Last night, CBC News reported that Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith “have agreed to the broad outlines of a memorandum of understanding that would give Alberta special exemptions from federal environmental laws and offer political support to a new oil pipeline to the B.C. coast,” which will be ‘formally announced at a joint news conference in Calgary on Thursday.”
