What’s happening on (and off) Parliament Hill, plus the news you need to start your day.
After logging back-to-back tête-à-têtes with United Nations Secretary General António Guterres and Namibian president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah yesterday afternoon, Prime Minister Mark Carney will start his first full day on the diplomatic circuit that traditionally accompanies the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly by outlining his “foreign policy priorities” during a livestreamed chat with Council on Foreign Relations president Michael Froman. (12:15 p.m.)
As per his advisory, he also plans to make an appearance at a high-level summit on the recommendations that emerged from the International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement on the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution earlier this year. (3 p.m.)
