Carney to reveal initial list of ‘nation-building projects’ in Edmonton – iPolitics

Amid the ongoing outpouring of grief and horror over the fatal shooting of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a speaking event in Utah yesterday afternoon, Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to unveil the preliminary list of what his office is billing as “nation-building projects that will connect and transform Canada’s economy” — and which, as Canadian Press notes, “could get fast-track approval as he pushes to spur investment and grow the economy,” courtesy of the streamlined review process that secured parliamentary approval in record time before the summer recess. Over the summer, the government “launched a new office to hasten project approvals,” which will be led by former Trans Mountain board chair Dawn Farrell, and is a core component of its “response to the economic threats posed by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump,” the wire service notes.
