What’s happening on (and off) Parliament Hill, plus the news you need to start your day.
As widely expected — and, indeed, previewed during his whirlwind visit to New Brunswick earlier this week — Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to reveal the newest additions to the rolling list of what his itinerary is billing as “nation-building projects that will connect and transform Canada’s economy” during an appearance in Terrace, B.C. later today. (11:15 a.m. PT)
As first reported by CBC News, “at least six projects” will be referred to the newly created Major Projects Office, including “at least three projects focused on critical mineral extraction, one for exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) and at least one transmission project,” as well as the North Coast Transmission Line and the Nouveau Monde Graphite zero-carbon graphite mining project in Quebec, according to The Globe and Mail.
