Plan sees FSIN own all casinos

Discussions about a possible sale of the Moose Jaw and Regina casinos to the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) could lead to benefits for everyone involved, and open the door to progress on a wide range of other vital issues, says one expert.
The controversial negotiations, which became public this week, are sure to be a major topic of conversation at the FSIN assembly scheduled to open today at the Whitecap Dakota First Nation south of Saskatoon.
“This is a positive first step. This suggests major changes, major improvements in an important relationship,” said Ken Coates, director of the University of Saskatchewan’s International Centre for Northern governance and Development.
