The Public Service Award of Excellence recognizes employees who have demonstrated excellence in achieving results for Canadians and who reflect the priorities of the public service, while demonstrating key leadership competencies.

- The award is open to individuals and teams at all levels (other than the deputy minister level).
- The award is non-monetary, and recipients are announced during National Public Service Week.
- In 2014, there are 13 categories for the Public Service Award of Excellence.

- The recipients will receive their awards at a ceremony in the fall.
- This year’s recipients delivered results in a wide range of areas, from investigating and reporting on disasters on scene, to improving access to data, to engaging Canadians across the country from space.
