ESA, Valard Construction, Fortis and more recognized at EHRC’s 13th Awards of Excellence – Electrical Business Magazine

The sold-out 2026 installment of EHRC’s annual event recognized the leaders and organizations powering the people behind Canada’s energy transition.
On February 19, more than 300 professionals from across Canada’s electricity sector gathered at Vantage Venues in Downtown Toronto for the Electrical Human Resources Council (EHRC)’s sold-out 13th annual Awards of Excellence.
The headline Leader of the Year award, presented Bruce Power’s VP and chief HR officer Karen Smith, went to Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) CEO Josie Erzetic for her efforts to successfully align the ESA as a prominent partner in Ontario’s energy transition built on accountability, inclusion and integrity since her appointment in 2022.
