FCM’s Annual Sustainable Communities Conference in London, ON, February 10–12, 2015

Press Releases

Canadian municipalities are on the front line of protecting the environment and driving the green economy, as they deliver services and develop more sustainable infrastructure. Municipal governments are also the closest to citizens and can most readily engage the community as regulators, facilitators, partners, program deliverers, educators and business partners. Local sustainability is where the rubber hits the road!

This fall, Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba and parts of Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories held municipal elections. How do we maintain and increase the momentum gained under previous municipal governments? Where can municipal officials and staff, their partners and sustainability stakeholders get the training, tools, resources, insights and inspiration they need to continue leading the way?

Under the theme Building Momentum for Sustainability, FCM’s Sustainable Communities Conference offers a unique three-day experience — a hub for Canadian municipal sustainability that enables participants to connect with experts and peers, explore London’s leading facilities and projects and experience delegate-driven content.
