This week, Alberta communities have been witness to massive lineups as separatists tour the province collecting signatures for a referendum to take Alberta out of Canada.

Crowds were particularly in evidence in Red Deer on Wednesday, where lineups were so long that supporters reportedly had to wait up to three hours to sign their names to a petition sponsored by the group Stay Free Alberta.
