Help inform Canada’s UNDRIPA Action Plan as it relates to Indigenous Education Rights

Join the dialogue on the First Nations with Schools Collective’s results of their summer community dialogue with First Nations school community, Knowledge Keepers and youth to inform Canada’s UNDRIPA action plan. The collective is a collaboration of eight First Nations with schools in Ontario. The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples recognizes the national rights of Indigenous Peoples to language, culture, self-determination, and well-being. This Gathering Circle will report on this summer’s dialogue with preliminary findings around a community approach in relation to UNDRIPA and Indigenous education. It is also an opportunity to have your say into Canada’s UNDRIPA action plan, its measures and reporting needs as it relates to First Nation education.

Your voice matters, you are encouraged to share information, experiences, and stories from the local level. The Gathering Circles will feature findings, best practices and stories followed by an active conversation with participants.
FNEAA will host a series of Gathering Circles on Education on themes related to structural readiness, partnerships and youth and culture from September 2022 to March 2023. This is your opportunity to share your perspectives and learn from the experience and insights of fellow First Nations education administrators.
