Kristan Straub named inaugural president and CEO of federal Crown corporation
Kristan Straub has been named the inaugural president and CEO of the Canada Indigenous Loan Guarantee Corporation (CILGC).
Straub, a member of Henvey Inlet First Nation and French River No. 13 First Nation, served for two and a half years as the CEO of Ring of Fire developer Wyloo Metals Canada, before stepping down from the position in October.
In his new role, he’ll lead the corporation in providing loan guarantees to enable Indigenous ownership in major projects, through the $10-billion Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program, which was first announced in Budget 2024.
