Press Release
January 29, 2026
The Government of Yukon will introduce online posting of bid prices for publicly tendered, price-driven construction procurements in early February 2026, as part of a six-month pilot project. The pilot will improve the procurement process by allowing bid prices to be viewed electronically once submissions are unsealed.
The move will return to the practice of making bid prices public earlier which was changed in 2019 under the government’s procurement policy.
This initiative responds to feedback from industry stakeholders, including the Yukon Contractors Association, who requested faster access to bid information. It also demonstrates the Government of Yukon’s commitment to collaborating with the local contracting community to continuously strengthen government procurement processes.
Online posting will provide contractors and interested parties with immediate access to bid prices on their devices. Bid results will be posted on the government’s bid opportunities website following each bid opening. Bid prices released at time of unsealing are unofficial results and are subject to compliance review, acceptance, and the application of Bid Value Reductions, which may impact pricing.
The Government of Yukon will continue to engage with stakeholders throughout implementation, evaluate the outcomes of the pilot and look at how to best expand the pilot to other procurement over the coming months.
This pilot is a great example of what we can achieve when government and industry work together. I look forward to continued collaboration with our local contracting community so we can take action to make government procurement processes effective and efficient.
Minister of Highways and Public Works Linda Benoit
The Yukon Contractors Association welcomes this pilot as a practical step toward enhancing transparency and fairness in public procurement. Public access to bid prices at the time of opening has long been an industry priority, and this approach improves accountability while giving contractors timely information to make informed business decisions
