Mayoral candidate Paula Havixbeck released a seven-point plan Thursday morning that she says will help business do business.
Havixbeck’s plan includes offering grants and incentives to women and aboriginal business owners, fast-tracking the permit process for downtown projects and reducing the business tax rate.
“If we take this seriously, and we actually work hard to create an economy in Winnipeg that will prosper with co-operation of all involved, we can look forward to a bright future,” Havixbeck said in a statement released this morning.
Other components of her business plan include creating a women’s advisory group, and working more closely with agencies – CentreVenture, Downtown BIZ, Economic Development Winnipeg – city hall is already working with on business deals and other projects.
