US video streamer Hulu has acquired rights to all four seasons of Canadian broadcaster Aboriginal Peoples Television Network’s (APTN) contemporary drama Blackstone.
The show, set on a native Indian reservation, explores power, corruption and family life through the eyes of the fictional Blackstone First Nations Community.
Produced by Prairie Dog Film and Television, the series is distributed internationally by PPI Releasing. APTN commissioned a fourth season of the show earlier this year.
It has previously been sold to broadcasters in New Zealand (Maori Television) and Australia (SBS/NITV).
“Blackstone’s raw, controversial and riveting content makes this an attractive and addictive series for a wide range of viewers. Hulu is the ideal platform to expand this audience,” said Ron E Scott, Blackstone’s executive producer, writer and director.
