Indigenous services puts money towards Inuit programs and university – APTN News

The federal government is putting $228.7 million towards several initiatives across the four territories of the Inuit Nunangat which are the Inuvialuit Settlement Region in the western Arctic, Nunavut, the Nunavik region of northern Quebec and the Nunatsiavut region in northeast Labrador.

According to a news-release from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Ottawa will provide $115-million for a one-year continuation of the Inuit Child First Initiative (IFCI), the Inuit version of Jordan’s Principle. The purpose of that funding is to widen access for Inuit children and families to health and social services and education.
