The free two-day gathering runs Sept. 12–13 at the Phoenix Theatre
A free, two-day, artist-led gathering celebrating Indigenous performance, storytelling and language revitalization is coming to UVic’s Phoenix Theatre Sept. 12 and 13.
Indigenous Theatre Festival: Staging Our Voices welcomes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members to experience live theatre, workshops, panel discussions and healing spaces led by artists, Elders and cultural leaders.
Festival highlights include Utszan by Yvonne Wallace, Slip Away by Samantha Sutherland, dance by the Git Hayetsk Dancers, traditional hoop dance by Jay Genaille
