Government’s 2019 Capital Plan is investing $24.2 billion over four years to enhance public infrastructure, including in Calgary and neighbouring communities.
Planning, design, or construction is underway on many dozens of Calgary and area infrastructure projects, including health facilities, schools, seniors housing, roadways, and flood-mitigation or recovery work.

Quick facts
- The 2019 Capital Plan carries through on previous infrastructure commitments and provides for a number of new projects, including
- 20 school projects in Airdrie, Calgary, Cochrane and Langdon
- Health facilities in Calgary, including Calgary Cancer Centre, Foothills Medical Centre, and the Peter Lougheed Centre
- Supportive living in Calgary and Cochrane
- Cultural and recreation projects such as Calgary Vivo for Healthier Generations and the YWCA Calgary Hub
- Flood-mitigation/recovery at Highwood River, Redwood Meadows, and Springbank Off Stream Reservoir
Other multi-year projects, including the Calgary Ring Roads, upgrades to Deerfoot Trail and Highway 1A, and the University
